I got the final seeding (or lack thereof!) for the Argus the other day... sad to say I've been stuck all the way down in Group OJ - start time 10h36!!! That means winners will have finished before I'm even off the mark. I suppose it's a bad combination of being a first-timer with a surname that starts with V.
I now see the wisdom in doing at least 1 seeding race in the run-up to the main event. Oh well... there's always next year, and if I get a decent time I should get moved up in the ranks for the next one. Should be a jol in any case - 5 hours (well that's the target based on my average speeds so far) on my bike in the heat of the day. Woohoo! But I am looking forward to it.
There's only 23 days left until the big day. Damn, looks like I'm gonna have to cleat up and hit the road big time over the next couple of weeks, I also need to get the ol' Schwinn fitted out with road tyres. After doing most of my training so far off-road and with fat knobblies a little less resistance on the road should see me flying! Look out for me, I'll be the blur of svelte lycra and go-faster shades. Haha.
